THE ARWEN LEWIS SHOW - Featuring Stacy Antonel Nashville artist Stacy Antonel makes clever, country-leaning Americana that feels vintage and hyper-modern. Her “country jazz” vocals conjure the great singers of the 20s-30s, with the emotive power of country icon Patsy Cline. Rooted in classic country and laced with jazz, pop, and R&B elements, Antonel’s narrative songs often feature unconventional themes. Antonel grew up near San Diego studying classical piano and cites an eclectic range of early musical inspiration: Tori Amos’s peculiar phrasing, Otis Redding’s rich melodic hooks. After winning the televised singing contest “3 Minutes to Stardom”, Antonel quit her job to focus full-time on music. She began performing classic country covers as Ginger Cowgirl, and in 2017 moved to Nashville to record her self-titled debut EP, which was released in 2019. The album was praised by critics and led to tours in California, the Southeast, the UK, and Germany. Antonel’s debut full-length Always the Outsider drops June 2022 under her own name, an eclectic, otherworldly Americana collection of “outsider anthems” exploring concepts like alien romance and past lives as well as everyday emotions like isolation and disconnectedness. JK Jones - Singer | Songwriter

THE ARWEN LEWIS SHOW - Special Guest JK Jones Today Arwen welcomes the great JK Jones! JK Jones picked up her brother's guitar before age 10 and studied classical flute in grade school. She won gold and silver medals for performance at the Los Angeles Unified School District Solo and Ensemble festival. She also performed as part of the Folksters group where she debuted her first Joni Mitchell covers. In college, she began songwriting in earnest, joined a band, and played at various venues in the Bay Area, including on the radio, at coffee houses, private parties, and weddings. JK returned to performing after a performance hiatus to raise a family and care for her parents. She sang at pops concerts, and joined the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic and Legal Voices Choir, with whom she sang at the Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall, and the Wallace Annenberg Theatre in Los Angeles. In 2015 JK suffered a neck injury that changed everything. She fought to recover her voice. After more than a year of intensive physical therapy and vocal retraining, she found new confidence. She started rolling out her originals and Joni Mitchell covers at various open mics, on YouTube (@JKJonesmusic1), at the former Coffee Gallery BackStage, the Lost Chord, Tarzana Community and Cultural Center, the Canyon Club. She headlined a Joni Mitchell Tribute concert at the Stardust concert series in May 2023. She was recently invited to perform at a Joni Mitchell Tribute in British Columbia, Canada.
