From Russia to the USA and 16 years in between - Yalana: Finding Her Way Back to Music, Creativity & Her True Self
What happens when you walk away from music for fifteen years… and then discover it was waiting for you all along?
On this episode of The Jeremiah Show, I sit down with pop-rock artist and songwriter Yalana to explore a remarkable story of reinvention, healing, and creative rebirth.
Before launching a successful public relations career in Los Angeles, Yalana spent six years fronting a rock band in Russia, performing concerts, writing songs, and chasing the dream of a life in music. But when her career path shifted, music slowly faded into the background. For nearly a decade, she didn't write a single song.
Then something changed.
After years of helping other artists tell their stories, Yalana began reconnecting with her own. What followed was an unexpected creative awakening that led to more than twenty new songs, including her debut singles "Good Girl" and "I Am You, You Are Me."
During our conversation, Yalana shares her journey from Russia to Los Angeles, the pressures of being the "good girl," the power of therapy and self-discovery, and why it's never too late to return to your true self.
This is a conversation about music, transformation, and finding the courage to become who you were always meant to be.
"It's never too late to get back to yourself, to your true self."
In This Episode:
Growing up in Russia and fronting a rock band
Building a successful career in public relations
Moving to Los Angeles with almost no English
The creative awakening that sparked her return to music
The story behind "Good Girl"
Healing, self-discovery, and finding your authentic voice
Why songwriting became a form of therapy
What's next for Yalana

Jeff Bergman: The Voice Behind Bugs Bunny, Looney Tunes & Toy Story 5
What happens when a kid who loved Saturday morning cartoons grows up to become the voice of Bugs Bunny?
On this episode of The Jeremiah Show, I sit down with legendary voice actor and master impressionist Jeff Bergman, the only performer officially chosen to succeed the great Mel Blanc as the voice of Bugs Bunny and many of the beloved Looney Tunes characters.
Jeff shares the remarkable story of tracking down his childhood hero, Mel Blanc, to a hotel room in Pittsburgh, where a brief conversation would ultimately change the course of his life. We discuss imagination, childhood memories, the art of becoming someone else, and the responsibility of preserving characters that have shaped generations of fans.
Along the way, Jeff performs several unforgettable voices, including Bugs Bunny, Yosemite Sam, Sylvester, Porky Pig, and even a spot-on Robert De Niro impression. He also reflects on stepping into one of entertainment's most iconic legacies, carrying the Looney Tunes torch for more than four decades, and what it means to be a custodian of our childhood memories.
We also discuss his upcoming role as Mr. Potato Head in Toy Story 5, taking over a character made famous by the legendary Don Rickles, as well as the exciting launch of the new Looney Tunes attractions at Six Flags.
Whether you grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons or simply love hearing how extraordinary careers begin, this conversation is filled with nostalgia, humor, and heartfelt stories from one of the most recognizable voices in animation.
A Quote from Jeff Bergman:
"It's always Saturday morning to me. It always is."

At just 21 years old, Canadian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sierra Levesque is proving that guitar-driven rock still has the power to ignite a new generation.
Raised on the sounds of Guns N’ Roses, Ozzy Osbourne, and Heart, Levesque transformed an early obsession with music into a relentless pursuit of artistry, teaching herself the drums, piano, guitar, and bass by the age of 13, while developing a sound that channels the energy and guitar-driven spirit of ’80s hard rock and metal with her own distinct style.
Her explosive live performances, unmistakable image, and fearless authenticity have already earned praise from Guitar World, which called her “the future of rock ’n’ roll,” while mentors and collaborators, including Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (Guns N' Roses), Nancy Wilson, and LA Guns, have become part of her rapidly expanding orbit. Yet despite the comparisons to past icons, Levesque remains focused on carving out her own identity. “I wanna be Sierra Levesque,” she says. “I don’t really wanna be the next someone.”
What makes Levesque especially compelling is her refusal to simply imitate the artists who inspired her. Whether she’s performing arena national anthems, sharing stages with rock legends, or building a fiercely loyal online following, her focus remains on creating music that feels unmistakably her own. “I want people to know it’s Sierra Levesque when they hear me,” she explains — a mission that comes fully alive on her debut album NEW GENERATION, a 13-track collection of fully original, self-recorded songs that has already surpassed 2.5 million Spotify streams. Combining heavy riffs, emotionally honest songwriting, and arena-sized hooks, NEW GENERATION positions Sierra Levesque as one of the most exciting young artists carrying rock forward for the NEXT GENERATION.

"Love Like Dawson"
Today on The Jeremiah Show, I’m joined by Ava Lynn Thuresson, the breakout artist who earned a two-chair turn on Season 22 of The Voice with her haunting reimagining of Britney Spears’ “...Baby One More Time.” During our conversation, Ava Lynn opens up about the emotional journey behind her music, the influence of her late cousin Dawson, and the meaning behind the message “Love Like Dawson,” which has become both a tribute and a way of life for her family.
We also talk about growing up between California and North Carolina, attending the prestigious Grammy Camp, songwriting, family, and what it felt like hearing coaches John Legend and Camila Cabello fight to have her on their teams. Ava Lynn performs live in the studio, shares original music, and reflects on turning personal loss into creativity and connection.
This episode is filled with heart, family, and honesty. It reminds us why music matters.

In Part II of my conversation with legendary producer, composer, and keyboardist CJ Vanston, we dive deeper into the wild road that took him from a childhood surrounded by jazz musicians to working alongside some of the biggest names in rock history. CJ shares unforgettable stories about touring with Joe Cocker, opening for Jeff Beck, collaborating with Toto and Def Leppard, and the moment he realized music would become his life’s work.
CJ also opens up about the changing music industry, the disappearing world of session musicians, and why passion, experience, and storytelling matter more than formal training. Along the way, we talk about composing for Christopher Guest films like Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show, the possibility of more This Is Spinal Tap projects, and the creative chemistry behind Jeff Skunk Baxter’s new album Speed of Heat.
This episode is filled with hilarious backstage stories, music history, and honest insight from one of the industry’s most respected creative minds.

For this special Mother’s Day episode of The Jeremiah Show, Jeremiah sits down with the person who shaped his life more than anyone else — his mom, Franny Higgins.
What begins as a conversation about growing up on the Santa Barbara Mesa unfolds into a deeply personal story about love, family, hardship, creativity, motherhood, and finding beauty in ordinary moments. Franny reflects on meeting her husband Terry during the counterculture era of the late ’60s, raising three children across the Pacific Northwest, and eventually creating the warm, nature-inspired world of Franny Annie’s Childcare — a place that has nurtured more than 50 children over the last two decades.
Together, Jeremiah and Franny revisit memories of Shoreline Park, homemade bread, hitchhiking to Oregon, raising children in cabins and farm country, and learning how to hold onto hope through grief and loss. The episode becomes a meditation on resilience, gentleness, and the quiet lessons mothers teach simply by the way they live.
One of the most powerful moments comes when Franny reflects on aging and her early morning walks through Santa Barbara:
“My world… it is so rich. It’s filled with trees. I could spend a lifetime exploring every branch that breathes, every bird that sings.”
This is a heartfelt conversation about memory, family, and the people who shape us forever.

On this episode of The Jeremiah Show, rising artist Hunter Hawkins shares the story behind her debut EP Phase—a deeply personal project shaped by change, independence, and self-discovery.
Hunter takes us through the evolution of the record, from writing her first songs after a transformative experience at a songwriting festival in Hawaii to navigating uncertainty during the pandemic. Along the way, she opens up about stepping away from expectations, leaving behind the pressure to fit into a mold, and learning to trust her own voice.
Each song on Phase captures a moment in time—family dynamics, emotional growth, and the process of rebuilding a sense of self. Hunter describes her writing as “photographs,” snapshots of where she was in that moment, giving the EP a cinematic, story-driven feel.
We also talk about her work as a filmmaker, her short film Window, and how storytelling extends beyond music into everything she creates.
This is a conversation about identity, creativity, and what it means to move forward without a script.
Listen now to hear the full story behind Phase and discover one of the most compelling new voices in indie music.

A true story of love, music, and the long road back to yourself.
In this episode of The Jeremiah Show, Jeremiah talks with author Debora Masterson about her book Freedom Quest, a true story rooted in the 1960s music scene. It begins with a young love between two artists and follows a life shaped by touring, ambition, and unexpected turns. As the story unfolds, we are witness to how music, identity, and personal choices shape the direction of two lives.
Debora shares the real story behind the book, including the rise of a gifted musician, his struggle with control and loss of identity, and the path back to clarity and each other. This conversation explores the search for freedom at any stage of life. If you’re interested in music history, personal growth, and true love stories, this episode brings all three together.

From an Oregon vineyard to Santa Barbara’s hottest new restaurant, Chef Dom Crisp shares a journey shaped by the land, discipline, and chasing a deeper purpose beyond the kitchen.
On this episode of The Jeremiah Show, Jeremiah sits down with Chef Dom Crisp, the chef behind Dom’s Taverna in Santa Barbara. Raised on a farm in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, Dom learned early to respect the land — a mindset that still guides his cooking today.
He shares his journey from early kitchen days cooking through France, where he embraced a style built on Basque cooking: simplicity, seasonality, and great ingredients.
Now in Santa Barbara, Dom is building a restaurant rooted in local seafood, live-fire cooking, and a high-energy dining experience that brings people together.
At the center of it all is something personal — how becoming a father reshaped his priorities, and why he wants to be known not just as a great chef, but as a good dad.

The Hollywood Composers Series Continues. Brought to you by The Jeremiah Show and Executive Producer Carol Connors
In this episode of The Jeremiah Show Hollywood Composers Series, Grammy-nominated composer and producer Shaun Drew takes us inside his creative world, sharing a curated journey through his music and the stories behind it. From deeply personal compositions shaped by grief and reflection to large-scale orchestral recordings with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Shaun reveals how emotion, imagination, and craft come together in his work.
He also offers insight into the art of film scoring—explaining cues, themes, and the role of music in storytelling—while discussing his bespoke music library and the balance between creating for picture and composing from within. It’s a thoughtful and immersive conversation about the power of music to connect, inspire, and shape how we experience a story.

Jeremy Keith is stepping into his moment on The Voice, but his journey has been years in the making.
In this episode of The Jeremiah Show, Jeremy shares what it feels like to move from a longtime background vocalist into the spotlight as a solo artist. After more than two decades in the music industry, his blind audition marked a turning point—one that challenged him to see himself differently and fully embrace his voice and identity as an artist.
Jeremy opens up about the mindset shift that came with standing alone on stage, the validation of having multiple coaches turn their chairs, and the confidence he gained from their belief in him. He also reflects on the importance of self-trust, stepping out of comfort zones, and why this chapter is about not letting himself down.
It’s an honest and inspiring conversation about growth, humility, and what happens when preparation meets opportunity.
