Special Guest Billy Meakes - LA Giltinis -Centre, joins Big Lou In The Sports Lounge!
Billy Meakes made a huge success of his debut season with the Giltinis and will be a key figure again in 2022.
Meakes grew up on Sydney’s northern beaches and attended rugby nursery St Joseph’s College Hunters Hill.
The centre was a part of the 2011 Australia U20s team that finished third at the U20s World Championships.
Meakes had to wait for his professional opportunity after stints in Sydney’s Shute Shield club competition.
Eventually, his chance came abroad.
In 2013, Meakes moved to England and began playing with local side Clifton in Bristol City.
Later that year, Meakes joined Gloucester, first on an academy contract and then as a fully-fledged squad player. After nearly three seasons with Gloucester, playing under Aussie Laurie Fisher, Meakes was granted a release to return to Australia and play with the Western Force.
Meakes’ UK experience showed in his Super Rugby return and he quickly made a stamp on the Southern Hemisphere competition.
Meakes’ form with the Force put him on the Wallabies radar.
In 2018, Meakes was among a host of Force players who moved to Melbourne in the wake of the axing of the WA side from Super Rugby.
Meakes continued to perform for the Rebels, though some injuries interrupted his 2018 and 2019 seasons.
Meakes finished 2020 on a short-term deal with London Irish.
Meakes was named MLR’s Back of the Year in rousing recognition of his influence as a forceful runner, hard-on-the-ball jackal, strong defender, and key figure in attack.
Just how valuable he is was demonstrated when he played a match-winning role as an emergency flanker in a win over the San Diego Legion.

She’s RinRin.
And she’s the next big rock star.
They say that overnight success takes 10 years but metalcore/alt-metal singer & songwriter RinRin burst fully formed onto the scene in summer 2020 with the release of her debut single ‘The Game’.
The 20-year-old Qarin (RinRin) Hipe from Perth, showing an early
aptitude for guitar joined her father’s cover band at age 13 and then the emo-rock band ‘Love Me Natalie’ before striding out with her own
material playing shows with her Super “Kuya’s”, KR Arguelles, James Judges and Eddy Bissett.
‘Seek the Truth’ followed in January 2021 and was in the Top 10 AMRAP Metro Charts and the Triple J Unearthed Metal Chart.
Both singles brought international attention to RinRin and by summer 2021, she had been snapped up by management company Riverman with Paradigm as her European agent.
The first single from the debut EP - Episode 1 – was Hellfire, released on July 9th along with a stunning video of Rin’s vision of the dystopian

The EP was released on September 3rd with the track ‘Shadows’ chosen for the Spotify Editorial Playlist ‘Rock Out’ (76k followers).
With an undeniable sense of the direction, she wants her band to have, RinRin is ready to play her powerful brand of heavy music all over the world.
Her band is debuting their EU performance at the highly anticipated Rock The City Festival to support Alice Cooper and Uriah Heep in Vantaa and Koupio, Finland on 10 & 11 June 2022.
This will be followed by several (to be announced) shows in the rest of the EU and the UK.
RinRin is represented by Destroy All Lines for Australia and 
New Zealand.
The Perth-based multi-talent first stole our attention in July 2020 when she released her debut single, The Game. Now, she’s returned with Episode 1– an EP full of kickass tracks that you NEED to listen to now.

David Greene is an eclectic British Guyana-born designer, visual artist, musician, and backline technician.
He inspires fans around the world, not only with his talents but with his centered “No Rush. No waiting. No-fail” approach to life and success.   
David developed a  mastery of music and technical proficiency that led him to work on tour and in the studio with icons like Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Joe Walsh, Billy Idol, Keb Mo, Lisa Marie Presley, Brian Setzer, Brian Wilson, and more.
In 2012 he was offered the opportunity to play percussion with Joe Walsh on the Analog Man Toor and got the opportunity to play on stage with artists such as Ringo Star, Brad Paisley, Jeff Lynne, Steve Perry, and others.
David rides multiple waves as an artist. How he does it is a mystery, and It was Joe Walsh who gave David the apropos name “Mysterious Dave”. In recent days Mysterious Dave can be seen grooving with the roller skaters of the Los Angeles area who are reviving the art of skating.

Mike Rogers doesn’t only know the punk and indie music scene, Mike was in it. He was the lead singer of the ’70s LA punk band, The Rotters, under the pseudonym Nigel Nitro.
A few years ago he left terrestrial radio and began broadcasting on
Digital Radio in 19 countries, and on 55 stations.

Mike "in Tokyo" Rogers is a director, producer, writer, and FM radio host who, in 2006, became the first foreigner in Japanese history to hold a
senior position at a major Japanese broadcasting station when he was appointed the general manager at TV Tokyo's InterFM radio channel.
Since then, he has built a career as a radio and TV host, producer, and writer in Japan with film credits including Ghostroads – A Japanese Rock N Roll Ghost Story and the documentary, Matsuchiyo – Life of a Geisha.
